Part 28



“There you are Baek. You’re here all along.” – Doo Joon.
“Doo Joon?” – Baek Heon, she turned around and saw Doo Joon walked closer to her.
“Hey...what are you doing here?” – Doo Joon. Baek Heon smiled.
“Nothing really...just wanted to ease my mind.” – Baek Heon.
“Are you alright?” – Doo Joon, slowly he held her hand.
“Doo Joon-sshi....” – Baek Heon. “Have you considered at what I said to you the other days?”
“I’m sorry, Baek Heon. I couldn’t.” – Doo Joon.
“You really...care about her?” – Baek Heon. Doo Joon nodded. “But then...why did you come?”
“Because....” – Doo Joon, speechless. Baek Heon smiled.
“Doo Joon-sshi, I think you better go to her. It’s nearly 12:00 am....” – Baek Heon. Doo Joon was shocked then right away he ran off.
“Oh well...that’s my faith then.” – Baek Heon.


“Hey guys, I’m going to get some fresh air.” – Ahn Hee, she stood up all of sudden.
“Ehh...now? It’s nearly. Are you sure?” – Yeon Ri.
“I don’t think I’ll stay for that. I just need fresh air for now.” – Ahn Hee.
“Well then, take care of yourself. We’ll tell Doo Joon that you’re going to your room when he comes back.” – Hyeok Ri. Ahn Hee nodded then she stepped out of the room. After she closed the sliding door, Doo Joon showed up and he’s all sweating up. Just as Ahn Hee about to say anything, Doo Joon right away grabbed her hand and pulled her along with him to somewhere else.
“W-Where are you taking me, Doo Joon? Aren’t you supposed to be with Baek?” – Ahn Hee.
“Not supposedly.” – Doo Joon.
“But then...why did you left?” – Ahn Hee.
“Because...I need to see her so that I can decline the comparison she made between us.” – Doo Joon. He stopped moving then slowly he turned around and looked at Ahn Hee. “........Because, I need to be with someone I rather be.” Ahn Hee eyes became widened and surprised. He moved his right hand closer to her face and touched it. “I choose you.” He hugged her right away and it made Ahn Hee double the surprised.
“And I thought all this times; it was just a wasted to make you noticed of me.” – Ahn Hee.
“I noticed you...all the time.” – Doo Joon. Tears came down from Ahn Hee eyes and it flow down her cheeks. “I’m sorry...for all this times; it took very long time for me to do this.” Slowly he kissed her on the lips.

“Achoo...” – Hae Ji, she started to sneeze. Jun Ho turned around and looked at her as she rubbed her nose. Quickly he moved much closer to Hae Ji, and then he put his arm around her. She slowly rest down her head on his chest. “Hmm...Warm. Just like always, oppa.”
“Hae Ji...” – Jun Ho. He turned his head facing Hae Ji and he smiled at her. “Happy New Year.” He moved his head closer to her and kissed her.



The next day, when Hae Ji woked up, Jae Beom wasn’t in the room anymore – he left before she wakens up. She looked around whilst scrubbing her eyes.


“Where is Jae oppa?” – Hae Ji, week tone. “Why is my head spinning?” Out of the blue, she started to cough. Slowly, without wanting to wait anymore, she stood up and tidy up the futon and put it back to where it belongs. She dressed up quickly and left the room. “I wonder where Jae oppa’s at.” She whispered.



At the lobby, where the others were at, when Hae Ji showed up, she seems to walks very slowly compared to everyday. Nichkhun the first one to noticed that Hae Ji’s getting closer.


“Hae Ji’s here, you guys.” – Nichkhun, he paused for a second and observing Hae Ji’s speed. “Is she alright? Somehow, it’s very difference from always.” The others looked up and turned their head around and saw at what Nichkhun meant.
“She looked very pale. I think we should bring her to the hospital.” – Chan Sung. Jun Ho stood up and ran towards Hae Ji.
“Are you alright, Hae Ji?” – Jun Ho. Hae Ji nodded. “Are you sure? I’m getting worried.” Hae Ji coughed with her one hand covered her mouth and the other hand just patted his chest. She continued walking and left Jun Ho behind. Everyone started to get worried then Jae Beom came to Hae Ji and put his hand on her forehead.
“Okay, you are burning. I’m going to take you to the hospital.” – Jae Beom. Just as he’s about to leave, one of the worked there approached them and told Jae Beom there’s a clinic nearby and willing to take them there. Jae Beom nodded in agreeing then they left to the clinic.
“I’m worried.” – Jun Ho.
“We all are, hyeong.” – Woo Young. All of them sighed heavily.



Meanwhile, Jae Beom and Hae Ji went to the clinic. When they’ve arrived there, immediately Hae Ji got checked up by the female doctor that worked there and it took couples of minutes for the checked up to be done. Jae Beom patiently waited for Hae Ji at the bench outside the doctor office.
When the checked up has done, Hae Ji came out from the office coughing with a medicines on her hand. He quickly stood up and Hae Ji doesn’t look very good.


“What did she said?” – Jae Beom.
“That...I need to...*cough*...rest lots at home. She said...I-I...*cough*...have a fever.” – Hae Ji.
“We’ll be leaving today. By the time we arrive home, you need a lot of rest and I will be the one to take care of you.” – Jae Beom. Hae Ji just nodded. They went back to where the others at. Chan Sung’s the first one to come towards Hae Ji and hugged her when they showed up.
“What the doctor said?” – Woo Young.
“She has a fever, that’s all.” – Jae Beom. He continued; “Hey...are all of you have done packing? We’re leaving.”
“Now, hyeong? But you two just returned.” – Jun Su.
“Yes and the fast we left; the fast Hae Ji can rest at home.” – Jae Beom.
“We have done packing earlier. All of our bags are at the van already included you and Hae Ji.” – Taek Yeon. Jae Beom nodded.
“We should go now.” – Jae Beom.
“Oppa...thank you.” – Hae Ji, weak tone then she started to coughed again.

Two days later, since the day they returned from the Resort, Hae Ji’s still on the bed. And as liked what Jae Beom promised, he has been the one that took care of her – forth and backward to the bed and the kitchen bringing her some warm foods. The only times she woke up was the time for Jae Beom to feed her some medicine and her food.
When Jae Beom came downstairs to put away the half filled soup, he doesn’t look very happy. From behind, someone tapped his shoulder and when he turned around it was Taek Yeon.


“Hyeong...Hae Ji didn’t finish the soup again?” – Taek Yeon. Jae Beom shakes his head and sighed.
“It has been two days already, and the fever still didn’t go down.” – Jae Beom. He continued; “I couldn’t concentrate whenever she’s in this state. When we left the home for work, she’ll be all alone. I’m worried.”
“Hyeong...we all are worried.” – Taek Yeon. Then they both sighed.



The next day, when Jae Beom came into the room, he nearly drops the soup when he saw nothing on the bed. Quickly he looked around and no one was there.


“Where is she!!?” – Jae Beom, panic tone. From behind, someone tapped his shoulder and when he turned around it was Hae Ji all cheer up. “Hae Ji!! You nearly gave me a heart attack. Don’t do that again.”
“Oppa, you seem surprised.” – Hae Ji.
“More to shocked. Where in the world were you?” – Jae Beom.
“I was at the rest room, changing my clothes from the PJ’s of course. I am not going to wear PJ’s the whole day except when going to sleep. You are not expecting me to wear those, are you?” – Hae Ji, she raised one of her eyebrows.
“Of course not...well I’m just glad your fever is gone now.” – Jae Beom.
“Hmm...Where are the others, oppa?” – Hae Ji.
“Somewhere in the house.” – Jae Beom.
“Oppa, the day after tomorrow is the reunion at my old high school. And I have been invited to go there.” – Hae Ji.
“Are you decided to go there?” – Jae Beom.
“I don’t know oppa. Somehow...yes.” – Hae Ji.
“Are you leaving today?” – Jae Beom. Hae Ji nodded.
“Oppa, you do know I’ll return back here?” – Hae Ji.
“Yes...I do know you will.” – Jae Beom.
“Oppa, will you drive me to the airport later?” – Hae Ji. Jae Beom smiled.
“Wait, how long are you going to stay there?” – Jae Beom.
“Just for a day.” – Hae Ji.
“I see then, have you packed your stuff already?” – Jae Beom. She giggled.
“Oppa, I still have my stuff back at the house in the state. I don’t have to pack really. I just bring the important one.” – Hae Ji. Then Chan Sung showed up then he ran towards them and hugged Hae Ji tightly.
“Don’t go!!” – He shrieked.
“Chan Sung-ahh...” – Hae Ji.
“Boy, she is just going to attend her old school reunion. She will be back the next day.” – Jae Beom.
“But still.....DON’T GO!!” – Chan Sung, screamed. One by one came up and saw Chan Sung all hugging Hae Ji.
“What’s up with Chan Sung? He looked like just lost a cat.” – Jun Su.
“He doesn’t want to let go of Hae Ji since he know he’ll be leaving for the State.” – Jae Beom.
“Ehh...? But Hae Ji will be returning after that.” – Woo Young.
“Chan Sung, you can let go off Hae Ji any seconds now. You’re making her suffocated.” – Woo Young. Jae Beom gave a signal to Taek Yeon, he smiled and received it. Quickly Taek Yeon pulled Chan Sung back clothes so hard that Chan Sung had to let go.
“Quit it Chan Sung!!” – Taek Yeon.
“Oppa, we should go now or I’ll miss my flight.” – Hae Ji. She looked at Chan Sung whom sat on the floor sulking, slowly she lowered her body and facing her. “Chan Sung....don’t worry, I’ll come back home. This place along with you guys...is my home.”



Right that instant, Jae Beom drove Hae Ji to the airport and she directly went into the terminal when the flight she’s in has been the last called already. Jae Beom kissed her forehead before she’s gone from his sight.
The next day at the state, when Hae Ji woke up, it’s already 8:00 am whereby the reunion will be starting around 12:00 pm. She still has lots of time, quickly she get up from the bed and started to dress up with the strapless gown with the length above the knees that she brought from Korea. When she went down, her parents were there sitting at the kitchen enjoying their breakfast.


“Mama...Papa....Good morning.” – Hae Ji, she greeted them good morning and kissed both her parents cheeks.
“Ahh, Ji. Good morning. Did you have a great sleep?” – Mrs Park. Hae Ji nodded.
“You’re all up dressed beautiful. Ahh, today is the reunion of your old high school, wasn’t it?” – Mr Park.
“Yes papa. I came back because of this.” – Hae Ji.
“You are not going to stay longer after that?” – Mrs Park. Hae Ji shakes her head.
“I don’t want to leave oppa alone back at the Korea.” – Hae Ji. Both of them smiled.
“We understand Ji.” – Mrs Park. Just as Hae Ji about to eat her breakfast, someone barged into the house with a loud tone.
“GOOD MORNING MR AND MRS PARK!!” – ???. All of them stared at her oddly.
“Annie, you still haven’t change at all.” – Hae Ji.
“Hae Ji!! Let’s go now, we should be going.” – Annie.
“What!!? I still haven’t touch my breakfast, Ann.” – Hae Ji.
“I came right away the second I heard my best friend has returned.” – Annie, then she looked around. “Where is Jay?!!”
“You mean Jae oppa?” – Hae Ji.
“Yes, Jay.” – Annie.
“No, Ann. It’s J-A-E. Beside, he’s not coming along.” – Hae Ji.
“Urghh fine with the spelling, Jae!! You are happy now? Wait, what!!?” – Annie.
“Yes, Ann. If I ask him to come along, you’ll be all over him and it’s disgusted me.” – Hae Ji.
“Ehh...!!? Do you have to be that cruel towards your own best friend?” – Annie. He continued while grabbed Hae Ji hand when she’s about to bite the toast; “Let’s go!! The others are thrill to see you.”
“ANN!! I HAVEN’T EATEN MY BREAKFAST YET!!” – Hae Ji.



Somewhere at the city –

Annie and Hae Ji reached at the usual place they used to hang out before. When they entered the coffee shop, Hae Ji’s old friend were there waving at them. Hae Ji was shocked and her eyes became widened when she saw them.


“Wait!! What in the world are we doing here? And what in the world are those peoples doing here?” – Hae Ji, she turned around. “I’m going home.”
“Oh come on, Hae Ji. They are our old high school classmates.” – Annie.
“An, you’re aware that before when we used to be on the same class as them, I don’t speak much to them!!? And now you’re expected me to mingle with them? Hell no, over my dead body!!” – Hae Ji.
“Hae Ji, come on, please...” – Annie. Hae Ji stares sharply at Annie in such disappointed look and groaned angrily. Then the both of them move forward and sat at the empty seat that has been reserved for them.
“Annie, Hae Ji...it has been awhile. Oh, you two look pretty now.” – Classmate 01.
“They are...especially Hae Ji here.” – Classmate 03. Hae Ji looked at him in pretty much disgusted looked. “Hey....Hey, what’s with that look? We aren’t bored you, do we?”
“Tom, Peter!! Quit it.” – Classmate 02.
“Oh, whatever Cherry.” – Peter. Hae Ji moved closer to Annie and whispered something to her.
“Now I remembered why I didn’t pretty much talk at them back then – they were pretty much disgusted and they are still now.” – Hae Ji, whispered tone.
“Hey...Hey, what’s with the whispered?!!” – Tom.
“Shut up, Tom!!” – Classmate 04.
“Tom...!!” – Classmate 05. Tom pretty much had enough that his friends wanted him to quit it. All of sudden, he stood up and grabbed Hae Ji along and walked off the coffee shop.
“What in the world!!?” – Annie, she stood up and went to chase after Hae Ji. When she came out, she saw Hae Ji just gave Tom a slapped on the face. But it didn’t affect Tom, that instant he grabbed her by her waist and touched her chin.
“You want to play hard, women?!! I....” – Tom, he couldn’t finished his sentence when someone just swung a fist right to his face and it knocked him out. Before Hae Ji can turn around to see who’s responsible for it, the mysterious person grabbed her and started to run off away from the place.
“Hae Ji...!!” – Annie. She couldn’t chase after her and when she looked back at Tom, she kicked him and went back inside.



“Who are you?” – Hae Ji.
