I Remember

Part 1



My name is Kwon Sa Byeon and I remembered that I befriend with someone great and wonderful but then I had to move to somewhere else because of my father career – far away from our hometown and being apart from him.
Up to till now, only before I moved away was the only and last time we talked with each others.
I remember him but is he?
And now, I have moved back to my hometown; Seoul, South Korea.
It has been years for me to step back to Korea; it felt so different from the last time.
Was it because I was little that time?
I wondered how he looks like now.

“Byeon!!” She turned around once her name being called. “You finally responded to my cried.”
“You are...?” She questioned the person that cried her many times.
“You are Kwon Sa Byeon, I presume?” Sa Byeon nodded.
“Yes, I am. May I know who you are? You seem to know my name.”
“You forgot about me?” He paused and observed her quietly from top to bottom repeated. He smiled and continued as he nodded at the same time; “I would have guess you wouldn’t since it’s has been ages you’re apart from here.” He laughed lightly. When he stopped laughing, he realized Sa Byeon walked away from him without saying anything to him. He quickly paced his steps and caught up with Sa Byeon. “Wait up.”
“I do not know you. You can stop bothered me.” She kept on walking forward and stopped when there’re huge commotions in front of them.
“That’s must be about that famous star again.”
“I less bothered about that.” Slowly she turned around and looked at him. “Who are you again?”
“Aish, Sa Byeon. I couldn’t believe you couldn’t remember about me when I do about you.” Sa Byeon didn’t say anything to him and kept on waiting for him to tell her. “It’s me; Kwon Ji Yong. Your dear cousin.”
“I thought you’re somewhere in England? Why do you end up here?”
“For someone that has blood related with me, you seriously forgot about your dear cousin.” He continued; “Oh and I just returned back from England few days ago.”
“It’s your fault for some reason I didn’t remember about you. Who was the one that never visit me anyway?” Ji Yong grinned. “Fashion too important for you than me, huh Ji Yong?”
“Ops.” He laughed lightly. Sa Byeon shakes her head in disbelieve. All of sudden, his facial changes and it made Sa Byeon aware of it right away.
“Something happened, am I right?”
“We fought.”
“Again?” She raised her left eyebrows.



Ji Yong didn’t say anything after that.
The next day Ji Yong came to Sa Byeon condominium with a happy looks on his face yet he made her bad-tempered when he woke her up from her sleep.


“You don’t have to kick me right on the face.” He rubbed his sore face with a frowned looks.
“You had to wake me up and I had to kick you off for bothered me in this early morning and it’s not yet 8:00 AM.”
“But do you have to hit me on the face? This face is very vulnerable for your information.” Sa Byeon glared at Ji Yong in disapproving. “Do you have to give me that glare?”
“You’re bothering me.”
“Sa Byeon, is he still in your mind?”
“I don’t know, should I even at all? I shouldn’t since he’s not either.”
“Do you miss him?” He paused and continued; “You stopped asking about him two years ago.”
“I don’t want to talk about this.”
“To be honest, once a year I return here to see mom and dad and I kept on bumping into him. He still remembers me and he has change, Sa Byeon.” He sighed. “I don’t want to hide this from you since the both of you were very close.”
“No, it’s not necessary for you to talk about this to me.”
“Fine my dear cousin, anything you say.”

December 25th –


Ji Yong and his girlfriend who were just stepped out from the café and the seconds they stepped out the cold breezes blew right to their way made them shake in frostiness. Ji Yong realized his girlfriend was shaking her hands off, immediately he grabbed her hand and shoved it to his jacket pocket. She smiled to her and he smiled back to him.


“Shall we go?” She just nodded. When they’re about to walk, Sa Byeon showed up. When Ji Yong saw her, quickly he cried her name out. “Byeon!!” Sa Byeon stopped moving when she heard Ji Yong called her name out. She glared at him and gave disapproved looked.
“Do you have to cry my name out loud every time we bump into each others?”
“You know me, I always do that.”
“You had to act like that in front of your girl friend.”
“Why? Couldn’t I?”
“No, you’re just being a fool.” Ji Yong girlfriend couldn’t help it but to giggled. “Care to introduce her to me? You’re so rude, Kwon Ji Yong.”
“Do you have to say my full name?”
“I just feel like doing that.”
“I try to ignore that. And oh, this is Ha Rin.” He continued; “And as you can see Rin, she is my unbelievable cousin that I have mentioned to you before.” He smiled.
“Shouldn’t I be the one to ignore your foolish act?” Sa Byeon continued; “Nice to meet you, Ha Rin. Wait, you talked about me behind my back? See, this is how foolish you are.”
“I am not!!” Ji Yong grunted.
“You two are funny.” Ha Rin laughed lightly. Sa Byeon smiled and nodded after.
“I should be....” Sa Byeon couldn’t continue her sentence when Ji Yong cried someone name that made her shocked inside.



Ji Yong ran towards his friend leaving both Ha Rin and Sa Byeon behind.


“Are you alright? You look a bit pale.” Ha Rin questioned and all Sa Byeon can do was to smile only.
“Don’t worry about me. I just thought of something that made me felt unpleasant.”
“Okay, if that’s what you want.” Sa Byeon nodded.



At the Café –


Just as Ji Yong about to sit, Sa Byeon grabbed his arm and dragged him to the outside leaving his friend and Ha Rin seated.


“What’s the big deal, Ji Yong? Why were you dragging me here?”
“Why? Can’t I just be nice to my cousin for once?”
“No, this is not nice. You’re nice is always up-to-something nice. Do you want to get kill by me?”
“Be tolerance for once, Sa Byeon. I had to drag you with me. Beside, we’re just having normal lunch together, don’t you want that?”
“I’m leaving.” Just as Sa Byeon about to walk off, Ji Yong friend showed up from inside.
“Is everything alright here?”
“We should just move on seeing my cousin here don’t want to join us for lunch. Let’s go inside, Tempo.” Sa Byeon threw a glare at Ji Yong; he pretended he didn’t say anything.
“Really? Ahh, we love if you join us, Ji Yong cousin.”
“I have a name.”
“Oh sorry.”
“She’s Sa Byeon.” Ji Yong answered it for Sa Byeon. Again, Sa Byeon threw an angry glared at him and he laughed hesitated. Right that moment, Ji Yong grabbed Sa Byeon hand and pulled her inside as they walked back to their seat.



After the lunch, when Sa Byeon was about to leave, again, Ji Yong caught her before she left. He can see how angry she was inside and he just smiled as if nothing has happen. He leaned towards her and whispered something to her.


“Don’t go anywhere; the three of us are planning to go to the Ferris Wheel.” Ji Yong whispered.
“I want to kill you badly.” Sa Byeon whispered back to him.



At the Ferris Wheel –


“Ji Yong, you had to make my planned for today cancel. You owe me for this.” Ji Yong laughed instead.
“Cousin, you will thank me one day.” He smirked as he and Ha Rin entered the Ferris Wheel where it fits for a couple.



Sa Byeon and Tempo have to wait for the next Ferris Wheel for them to joins the other.
When it’s their turn, Sa Byeon was hesitated wanting to enter the Ferris Wheel since she has phobia for high place where she could get nausea easily. Tempo was surprised that Sa Byeon still standing on the ground.


“Are you coming?”
“No. Don’t make me go inside that thing.” Tempo smiled and he could sense that she’s afraid of height.
“Do you want to go somewhere else, instead?”
“I rather be somewhere than here.” Tempo slowly stepped out of the Ferris Wheel and made the other couple went inside instead. Ji Yong saw everything and he was shouting inside the Ferris Wheel, unfortunately Tempo and Sa Byeon couldn’t hear him.



Tempo and Sa Byeon left the place and headed somewhere else whilst leaving Ha Rin and Ji Yong enjoying the Ferris Wheel.
Since it was cold temperature, they headed to the Café instead to have their hot coffee to warm themselves.
In the middle sipping his tea, Sa Byeon opened her mouth as she was feeling so curious.


“What’s your real name? I presume Tempo is not your real name, yes?” He nodded.
“No, it’s just the name that my manager gave me. My real name is Choi Seung Hyun. You can call me by my real name.” He smiled and continued sipping his coffee. Sa Byeon expression changes all of sudden. She grabbed her stuff and stood up immediately. “Where are you going?” He stood up all of sudden.
“I’m leaving!!”
“Are you angry?”
“Tell that no good cousin of mind to call me later. Goodbye.” She ran off just like that and when Tempo about to chase after her, she already gone from his sight. He rubbed his head with curiosity and confusion. Quickly he called up Ji Yong.
“You two better tell me...” Before he could finish talking, Tempo cut him off.
“She left with anger. I don’t know.”
“Did you really hit your head hard all these years, Seung Hyun?”
“No, why would you say that?” Seung Hyun questioned.
“That’s because........” Ji Yong didn’t finish his sentence and stopped there.
“Did I do something wrong to make everyone upset?”
“No, but...” He paused for few minutes and continued; “I’ll tell you later.” He ended the phone making Tempo left with no answer.
